There are lots of reasons to spread a little love in February.
The most obvious, of course, is Valentine’s Day – which has helped February earn the title of the month of love. But this isn’t a recent association by any means. Did you know Valentine’s Day and February’s dedication to romance have been celebrated for centuries and centuries? Besides being the month of love, February is also Heart Health Month. This means it is a great time to check up on your own heart health and to encourage your loved ones to do the same. And then who can forget about National Kite Flying Day, National Pizza Day, National Make a Friend Day, National Gumdrop Day, National Drink Wine Day – and the list goes on. With so many to choose from, it should be easy to find one or two to share with someone!
If you really want to make a difference in the world, then National Random Acts of Kindness Day on the 17th is one you won’t want to miss! Spreading love with a simple act of kindness can have a great impact on those around you.
But don’t stop there! Why not show a little love all month long? Tell your someone special just how special they are – on February 14th and on every other day of the month. Help a loved one keep their heart healthy by asking them to take a walk with you. Even better, encourage a healthy lifestyle by going for daily walks with your family. It’s a great way to exercise and spend a little quality time together. And remember that you shouldn’t spread your love only to the people already in your life. Simply smiling, saying thank you or holding the door for someone can make a difference.
